Eleven simple words, "We're looking forward to climbing into your shoes for an hour", had a profound affect on Tony Schiller as a professional speaker.

They were said to him by the president of a Microsoft company moments before Tony's closing keynote at a major business conference. It was an "ah-ha" moment that gave him crystal clarity on the exact role he brings to the stage.

While there are many speakers whose role it is to "climb into the shoes of the audience in order to see the world from their point of view, this executive wanted the exact opposite. He felt that HOW his leaders were viewing their world "was" the problem - or at least was self limiting. He told Tony:

"Let us climb into your shoes. We want to hear your story… how you got to where you are… what it’s like to compete in the Ironman. Trust us to be smart enough to take what we need back to work on Monday.”

That discussion anchored Tony's understanding of his role in the speaking business... to tell his own story in a way that allows each audience member to come away with a better understanding of their own story and motivate them to make the changes they can make to rewrite the next chapter in it.

Tony's stories are skillfully presented. They get retold and retold by audience members who want others to feel the inspiration and insights they came away with on how to BreakAway in the race of life.

Walking the Talk... Tony has won over 160 long distance races since 1973 and he's still going strong. In June he beat all 500 athletes at the Lake Minnetonka Triathlon. The win, at age 50, made him the oldest known winner ever of USAT sanctioned triathlon. A week earlier, on June 7th in Vancouver, Canada, he led from start to finish in winning a 6th age group world title - this one for men over 50.

Besides racing and speaking, Tony founded in 2004 the MiracleKids Triathlon for the dual purpose of getting kids off the couch and outside exercising, and raising money for families who are in financial crisis while treating a child with cancer.

Under Tony's vision and leadership as director, the event has grown into one of the largest of its kind for kids in the world. From 2004-08, 3500 kids have finished the triathlon and over $500,000 has been for the Miracles of Mitch Foundation which provides financial grants to families treating a kid with cancer.

Building the MiracleKids into a thriving community movement with over 30 corporate and civic partners and some 200 volunteers has given Tony even more depth as a business speaker. It's the kind of real-world experience in leadership, motivation and team building that you simply can't learn from a book.

All of these life experiences make Tony a speaker than can help your organization BreakAway.
